This is one of the largest judo halls in the world with 833 tatami mats forcompetition. Two types of tatami mats are arranged for proper training, one issuitable for training, and the other is for matches. Under the floor, springs areset to absorb as much shock as possible from throwing and other techniques,and to reduce injuries to players. At the center of the training area, a photo ofMr. Kano Jigoro, the “Founder of Judo,” is set up with his ideas of “Seiryoku- Zenyo (Maximum efficient use of energy)” and “Jita-Kyoei (Mutual prosperity foroneself and others),” which warmly watches over players practicing hard.
