Aim | This study mission was conducted as part of the "Ganbare! Nippon!" Project organized by the JOC to support the recovery of the Great Eastern Japan Earthquake. It aims to provide opportunities for promising, young sports men and women affected by the Great Eastern Japan Earthquake to personally experience international sporting meets in the hope that they will contribute towards sports activities in future. |

Participants | ·Team leader Mai Nakamura(Sydney Olympic silver medalist) ·20 team members fulfilling the following 4 criteria (1) Junior high school 1st -3rd year students (born between Apr 2, 1997 and Apr 1, 2000) (2)Those who fulfill either one of the following conditions 1. Those who have lost up to 2 close relatives in the earthquake disaster(grandparents, parents, siblings) 2. Those whose training environments have been severely affected by the earthquake (3) Those who are competing in the 26 competitive events of the London Olympic Games (4) Those recommended by the education committees and agencies of the affected prefectures of Iwate, Miyagi, Fukushima and Ibaraki. ·3 staff |
